Drive-thru electronics disposal in Waupaca
The city of Waupaca and Waupaca Area Chamber of Commerce will hold its annual Electronics Recycling Event at the parking lot at the corners of Washington and Union Street from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, April 27.
Area residents and businesses can dispose of their electronics without exiting their vehicles.
The following items will be accepted free of charge: computers, servers, laptops, gaming systems, phones, cell phones, tablets, speakers, record players, keyboards, mice, cords, printers, radios, DVD and CD players, shredders, fax machines and more.
There will be a fee for the following items: flat and CRT computer monitors – $20 each; flat and CRT TVs (29-inches and under) – $20 each; flat and CRT TVs (30-49 inches) – $40; flat and CRT TVs (50 inches and over) – $60; wood console or projection TVs – $60 each; large copy machines or printers – $15 each; microwaves – $15 each; dehumidifiers – $20 each; mini refrigerators – $20 each; small A/C units – $20 each; ovens or dishwashers – $25 each; washers or dryers – $25 each.
People dropping off items should enter the parking lot off of Washington Street and follow the signs. There they will be greeted and asked what they are disposing of, monies will be collected for fee items.
They will then be directed to the appropriate drop off point. Staff will be on hand to unload items, they ask that partipants do not exit the vehicle, let them do the work. Items do not need to be in boxes or wrapped up. Just bring the item.
The city of Waupaca and Waupaca Area Chamber are working with a new company, Recycle that Stuff from Appleton. They are an E-Cycle Wisconsin registered computer and electronics collector and recycler through the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources.
