Robison, Sylvia D.

Sylvia Darlene Robison, passed away suddenly, the result of an automobile accident, on Wednesday, April 25, 2018. She was born the third of nine children to Ernest and Emily (Drew) Duvall, on June 18, 1935, in the Township of Enterprise, Oneida County, WI.

Sylvia graduated from Rhinelander High School. She married Wilbur Robison on August 7, 1954, and they were together 62 years and had three daughters. Sylvia lived a full and busy life devoted to many things. Moving from Enterprise to Poplar Grove, IL, she raised her three daughters, and was a business owner upholstering furniture, and even finding time to teach an evening class to pass this trade along to those who wanted to learn. As a UAW member, she lobbied for laws and attended Democratic National Conventions, campaigning for Paul Simon, and drove Geraldine Ferraro’s car in a parade. She was a big advocate for women’s rights and the Equal Rights Amendment. She was president of Music Boosters for North Boone High. She retired from Devilieg-Sundstrand after 20 years. She was passionate about many things in her life, with the Democratic Party being one which she was so proud of. This was always the top of her agenda, even after retiring to Pelican Lake, WI, where she was also active with the Women’s Civic Club and was in things like fashion show and modeling. While being a snowbird in Hernando, FL, she was in the Apache Shored Women’s Group and was in a Kitchen band. Finally upon moving to Weyauwega, WI, she was continually involved with the Waupaca County Democrats, Red Hatters and TOPS.

Her daughters survive her: Mary Ann Robison-Kaeding (fiancé Bart Maddrell), of Janesville; Diann (Fred) Pribbernow, and Doris Robison of Weyauwega. She is further survived by a granddaughter, Kelly Bensing, of New London, WI; brothers: Willie Duvall of Nashville, TN, and Fred (Susan) Duvall of Diamond, OH; sister, Bernice Matz, of Lakeland, WI; sisters-in-law: Joyce Helser, Shirley Robison, Virginia Bergman, and many nieces and nephews. Sylvia was preceded in death by her husband Wilbur; her parents; brother, Herbie Duvall; sisters: Lucy Fosterling, Florence Richard, Joyce Duvall, and Marilynn Rumpee; brothers-in-law: Leon Robison, Laverne Bergman, Rudy Helsner.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on May 19, 2018, at 11:00 a.m at Enterprise Town Hall, Pelican Lake, WI with burial at Enterprise Cemetery. The Cline Hanson Dahlke Funeral Home in Weyauwega is serving the family.
