Softball team wins second game

Waupaca and Winneconne split a nonconference softball doubleheader May 12 at Waupaca High School.

Winneconne win the opener 3-1 and the Comets answered with a 5-0 win in the second game.

Winneconne 3, Waupaca 1
Winneconne took a 3-0 lead in the first lead with a run in the top of the third inning and two more in the sixth. Waupaca came up with a run in the sixth.

Winneconne outhit Waupaca 7-3.

Waupaca 5, Winneconne 0
Waupaca held the Wolves scoreless in the second game and took advantage of three Winneconne errors.

Waupaca scored single runs in the third and sixth and added three more in the seventh while outhitting the Wolves 7-6.

The Comets hosted Denmark for a North Eastern Conference doubleheader May 15 and will head to Wrightstown Thursday, May 17, for a 4:30 p.m. matchup with the Tigers.
