Indians score six in sixth

By Greg Seubert

Seven walks in the sixth inning helped Weyauwega-Fremont pick up a Central Wisconsin Conference East Division baseball win over Amherst.

The Indians trailed 6-1 at one point, but scored six runs in the sixth and held on for a 7-6 win over the Falcons May 17.

Amherst scored six runs on six hits off of W-F starter Gavin Curtis in the first 2 1/3 innings, but reliever Kolden Baehman allowed only two hits the rest of the way and ended up getting the win.

Curtis scored two runs for the Indians and had an RBI in the game. Easton Groskreutz, Michael Hickey, Louis Knecht, Collin Jorgensen and Brandon Scheer also drove in a run.

Ty Peterson led Amherst with three hits, but also took the loss on the mound.
