Marsha Stearns, age 70, of Waupaca, passed away on Saturday, May 26, 2018 at her residence, surrounded by her family.
She was born in Oshkosh, WI on August 24, 1947, the daughter of Lloyd and Faye (Hetzel) Durrant. Marsha was joined in marriage to Jerry Stearns for 53 years and together they owned and operated Stearns Sound and Security, LLC in Waupaca, WI for many years. Marsha had many passions in life but none held a match to her love for her grandchildren. She also enjoyed spending time with her knitting group and she had a green thumb and found solitude in working with plants and flowers. Her signature dishes will be greatly missed. Although we have the recipes, it will not be the same without Marsha’s special touch.
Marsha is survived by her husband, Jerry Stearns of Waupaca; a daughter, Michelle Stearns of Waupaca; a son, Michael Stearns of Waupaca; two sisters, Lisa Haire of Weyauwega and Sheila Nelson of Waupaca; a brother, Lloyd Durrant Jr. of Waupaca; a daughter-in-law, Monica Bartell-Stearns; a granddaughter, Alexandra Stearns of Los Angeles, CA; a grandson, Grant Stearns of Waupaca; many other close relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents.
A Funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 31, 2018 at Faith Community Church in Waupaca beginning at 11 a.m. with Rev. Eric Tober officiating. Visitation will be on Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at Faith Community Church from 5-7 p.m. and will resume the day of services at 10 a.m. Interment will take place in the Crystal Lake Cemetery following the funeral. Holly Funeral Home of Waupaca is assisting the family.
