Robert J. Christ, age 88, New London, died unexpectedly on Monday, May 28, 2018.
Bob was born on August 7, 1929 in New London son of the late Austin and Mabel (Liner) Christ. He served his country in the US Navy and was a proud Navy Hurricane Hunter. He married Mary Jax in 1970. Bob owned and operated London Studio for many years, taking thousands of pictures. He was very active in many New London community organizations and was a member of Most Precious Blood Catholic Church. Bob and Mary were married for 48 years and were always together. Though hearts break in their passing a day apart, all find solace in this grand destiny.
Bob is survived by his son, Brian (wife, Clodagh McGuinness); a brother Jim; in-laws, Patti and Stan Rockweiler and Joe (Judy) Jax; in-laws, John, Grainne and Anna McGuinness and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Mary, a sister Margaret (Jim) Burns and sister in-laws, Alta Christ and Norma Christ.
The Mass of Christian Burial for Bob will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 1, 2018 at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church in New London. Fr. John Kleinschmidt will be officiating. Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 31, 2018 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at the CHURCH and again on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be in Most Precious Blood Catholic Cemetery in New London.
