Driver stopped four days after losing license

Kevin J. Ricketts, 46, Manawa, was charged with a fourth drunken driving offense, operating after revocation and failure to install an ignition interlock device.

Shortly after 11:30 p.m. Friday, May 18, Manawa Police Officer Jacob Noffke stopped a vehicle because its taillights were not illuminated.

Noffke reported smelling a moderate odor of alcohol when he spoke to the driver, identified as Ricketts.

Due to his prior drunken driving convictions, Ricketts is restricted to a .02 blood-alcohol concentration.

According to the criminal complaint, a preliminary breath test indicated Ricketts had a .199 BAC.

He was sentenced to 170 days in jail, assessed $4,018 in fines and court costs, his license revoked for 36 months and he was ordered to install an IID for 36 months.

He had a .289 BAC when he was arrested in 2014.

On April 26, 2018, Ricketts was pulled over for suspected drunken driving. He was cited for refusing to take the test for intoxication, then ordered to install an IID, and his license was revoked for another 36 months on May 14.
