ALDI store reopens

Ribbon cutting June 6

ALDI will celebrate the reopening of its renovated Waupaca store on Wednesday, June 6.

The event will include an 8:25 a.m. ribbon cutting, followed by ALDI’s Golden Ticket giveaway offering gift cards to the first 100 customers.

Shoppers may also enter a sweepstakes for a chance to win a year’s supply of ALDI produce.

The store, located at 1040 W. Fulton St., is open from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Sunday.

Its layout focuses on fresh food, produce, dairy and baked goods.

All remodeled ALDI stores feature open ceilings, natural lighting and environmentally-friendly building materials.

“Our remodeled store layout will simplify the shopping experience for customers, so they can get out the door with everything they need,” said Atty McGrath, Oak Creek division vice president for ALDI. “We’re excited to unveil these changes in a great market like Waupaca, where we already have passionate, loyal customers.”

The store is part of a $1.6 billion initiative to remodel and expand more than 1,300 ALDI stores nationwide by the end of 2020.

Locally, ALDI is investing nearly $18 million to update 10 stores in the Green Bay-Appleton area by the end of 2019.

ALDI’s business model has made it one of the fastest-growing retailers in the United States.

As part of the company’s expansion plans, 25,000 new jobs will be added in stores, warehouses and offices nationwide by 2022.

ALDI recently was named to the Forbes America’s Best Large Employers list.
