FVTC grads finding jobs

Employment highest in 17 years

According to Fox Valley Technical College’s latest Graduate Employment Research Report, 95 percent of all 2017 FVTC graduates found employment within six months of graduation.

That is the highest figure for the institution in 17 years.

Similar data on graduate employment at FVTC covering the two previous years revealed that 94 percent of alumni found jobs within six months, up from 92 percent in 2014.

The study is done each year and examines the graduation status of students from the previous year’s class.

Another finding from the latest survey indicates a record 70 academic programs at FVTC with 100 percent graduate employment.

“Fox Valley Technical College’s graduate employment data reflects our close connections to the needs of area employers and a proactive commitment to building marketable skills in our students,” said Dr. Susan May, president of FVTC. “To support the needs of today’s workforce, we’re focused on providing graduates with the skill sets in demand while working with employers across the region to expand the knowledge and skills of their current employees.”

In addition, local employers are rewarding FVTC talent with impressive salaries. The new report cites an average annual salary of more than $52,000 for graduates after being in the workforce for five years.

Offerings from FVTC’s Waupaca Regional Center produced a 96 percent graduation employment rate. These technical diploma and associate degree programs offered in Waupaca include farm business and production management, nursing assistant, medical assistant, business management and management development.
