Jason Norkett, known to friends as “Nork”, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at the age of 43 years.
He was born in Glen Falls, NY on August 10, 1974 and grew up in Waupaca, WI, residing there until two years ago. He is remembered for his smart alec sense of humor, his practical jokes and talents – athleticism, artistry, and hardworking mentality in the construction industry, even running his own masonry business for many years. His brother, Matt, would see it differently, jokingly calling him “lazy” on occasion, but Jason always proved him wrong, working hard to provide for his family. The memories he made with his children, Kade and Khloe (whom he shared with former spouse, Toni Gullixon), were some of his most cherished. He also enjoyed his time with Remi, who he welcomed with open arms and heart, with his new wife, Darla. In his most recent years, he yearned for new adventures, traveling to Washington and then North Carolina where he last resided.
Jason will forever be remembered by his wife Darla (Oxford), parents Edward and Patricia Norkett, and by his brother and sister, Matthew and Amber Norkett. He will also be remembered by aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family and friends. May he enjoy eternal peace, surrounded by Eleanor “Granny” Wysocki, Diana “Auntie Dee” Rashke, Grandpa Jack and Grandma Carol Ranney and his favorite dog, Fritzi.
A celebration of life will be held Sunday, August 12, 2018 from 12:30-4 at South Park (lower shelter) in Waupaca.
