Local Democrats host picnic

Meet-and-greet with candidates

The Waupaca County Democratic Party will host a picnic to introduce Democratic candidates to local voters.

The event will take place from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday, July 8, at South Park’s upper pavilion in Waupaca.

Invited speakers are Erin Tracy, candidate for the 40th Assembly District; Josh Kaul, candidate for Attorney General; Khary Penebaker, Wisconsin’s DNC representative, and John Nichols, progressive journalist and author.

Invited guests include 8th Congressional District candidate Beau Liegeois, state Representatives Amanda Stuck and Gordon Hintz, state Senators Caleb Frostman and Dave Hansen, and Democratic candidates for governor, lieutenant governor, state treasurer and secretary of state.

The Band Orphans, a cover band from Waupaca, will perform.

The picnic is open to the public and tickets are $15. Hamburgers, bratwurst and hot dogs will be served along with a potluck selection of side dishes and desserts.
