Johnson, Arlene B.

Arlene B. Johnson, age 101, of Waupaca, WI passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 18, 2018 at Rennes Health and Rehabilitation Center in Appleton, WI.

She was born on October 21, 1916 in Athens, Marathon Co., WI; daughter of Reverend Benjamin and Inez (Levisee) Bousfield. Arlene graduated from Mohall High School in North Dakota in 1933. On May 9, 1941, she married Elmer L. Johnson on her family farm in the Town of Dayton and together they shared 71 years of marriage before his passing on October 11, 2012. Arlene enjoyed reading, flower gardening, and making pressed floral cards. She was a past member of the Waupaca Garden Club and the Waupaca Historical Society. Arlene will be dearly missed by all of her loving family and friends.

Arlene is survived by her two sons, David (Vickie) Johnson of Denmark, WI and LeRoy (Cheryl) Johnson of Appleton, WI; grandchildren: David Jr. (Kristen) Johnson of Denmark, WI; Tisha (Chris) Sutherland of Appleton, WI; Ben Johnson of Forest Junction, WI; Amy (Richard) McGuinness of Navarre, FL, and LeRoy Johnson, II of Appleton, WI; and great-grandsons, Garrett Johnson of Pulaski, WI; Evan Sutherland of Appleton, WI, and Elliott Johnson of Denmark, WI. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Rev. Benjamin and Inez Bousfield; her husband, Elmer Johnson; a sister, Helen (Art) Brokofsky; a brother, Emmett (Nellie) Bousfield; and a niece, Patricia Hall-Thrasher.

A Memorial Service will be on Saturday, August 25, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the Parfreyville United Methodist Church in Waupaca, WI. Reverends Amy Powell and Eric Taylor will officiate. A visitation will be held on Saturday from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at the church. Burial will be at the Parfreyville Cemetery in the Town of Dayton following the service on Saturday. The Holly Funeral Home of Waupaca is assisting the family with arrangements.

A special thank-you to all of the staff at Park Vista in Waupaca, Rennes Health and Rehabilitation Center, and Joanne Rasmussen for all of their help and support given to our family. The special care Arlene received will never be forgotten.
