Viona B. (Wood) Jorgenson, known to everyone as Grandma J, born on May 25, 1919, left us peacefully to meet the love of her life, Earl Jorgenson, at the gates of heaven on September 1, 2018. Waiting at Earl’s side was her Savior, Jesus, her son, Richard Jorgenson, her parents, sisters and brothers as well as many others who had gone before her. Officiating the transition from Rosemore Village Retirement Community to heaven was the One who made her and has now called her home, God himself. He welcomed her through heaven’s gates with grace, mercy and a love like she had never felt before.
Grandma J will forever be in the hearts of those she has left behind who love her. Memories will forever be cherished, such as: deer hunting camp and grandma’s chili, garage sale treasures, metal detecting, CB radio, the farm, the apartment, putting puzzles together, crocheting, auctions, Oakland Resale Shop (before Thrift Stores were trendy), Christmas family gatherings, playing cards and BINGO to name just a few. Please take a minute or two to think of your fondest memory of Grandma J. We love you a bushel and a peck and a hug around the neck.
A Celebration of her Life will be held at Shepherd of the Lakes Church in Waupaca on Friday, September 7, 2018. Visitation will be at the church 12:00 – 1:00 with Celebration of Life service beginning at 1:00. This will be a true Celebration of the Life of Grandma J, so we invite you to please share your fondest memory during the service. If you don’t feel comfortable speaking in front of people, please write out your memory and someone will be honored to share it for you. Grandma J will be laid to rest next to Earl at Lakeside Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, Grandma J would prefer a donation to Shepherd of the Lakes Church in her honor.
