Pot found growing in trailer park

A 63-year-old woman with no prior criminal record now faces possible prison time.

Vicki B. Erickson, Waupaca, is charged with growing marijuana, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

On the night of Monday, Aug. 27, Sgt. Mario Graceffa, with the Waupaca Police Department, and Sgt. Kevin Studzinski, with the Waupaca County Sheriff’s Office, executed a search warrant at the 600 Oak Street trailer park, in Waupaca.

Officers found a 3-foot pot plant growing about a foot away from Erickson’s trailer. They also found two marijuana plants growing in her neighbor’s garden.

According to the criminal complaint, Erickson said she did not know how the plants came to be in her neighbor’s garden but she had been tending them along with the tomatoes.

She also showed officers a potted pot plant growing inside her home and some marijuana and a pipe in her living room.

According to the criminal complaint, Erickson told police she has been smoking marijuana almost daily for more than 40 years.

If convicted of growing marijuana. Erickson could serve a maximum of 3 1/2 years in prison.
