The 92-year-old Waupaca woman who was missing since Thursday was found.
Kathryn (Kitty) Gwendolyn Wenckus walked away from her residence on the N3100 block of County Trunk QQ in the Chain O’ Lakes area around 1:30 p.m. Thursday and spent the night outdoors.
Sheriff Brad Hardel said a search team comprised of volunteers and Waupaca firefighters located her around 10 a.m. in a wooded area between 1/4 and 1/2 mile northeast of her home.
Search efforts had been ongoing throughout the night with officers and firefighters from multiple jurisdictions aiding in the search.
Hardel estimated that nearly 300 people participated in the search.
