Firefighters host Fall Festival

Iola Rural Fire serves 225 square miles

The Iola Rural Fire and Ambulance Department will host its second annual Fall Festival from 4-7 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 15, at the fire station located at 350 W. Iola St., in Iola.

“We are here to protect, serve and enhance the safety and well-being of the community,” said Fire Chief Jim Aanstad. “We could not do what we do without the support of the community.”

Everyone is encouraged to come and enjoy food and drinks and bucket raffles.

“Come out and support your local Fire and Ambulance, have a great time and win some very nice prizes,” Aanstad said.

The Iola Rural Fire and Ambulance Department has 45 members and serves more than 225 square miles.

The fire department serves the village of Iola and the towns of Iola, Helvetia, Harrison and New Hope. The ambulance serves the villages of Iola and Scandinavia, and the towns of Iola, Helvetia, Harrison, Scandinavia and St. Lawrence, Aanstad said.

Prize drawings will take place at 6 p.m.
