Waupaca gets home win

By Greg Seubert

Luxemburg-Casco handed the Waupaca boys’ soccer team a 7-2 loss last season.

The tables were turned in the Sept. 11 rematch of the North Eastern Conference teams, however, as Waupaca controlled the tempo all game against the Spartans in a 5-0 win at Comet Field.

The Comets improved to 2-1 in conference play with the win.

Keagan Turrubiates led the way with two goals and an assist, while Forrest Ziebell, Keenin Polebitski and Fletcher Ceizyk added goals.

“I’m very pleased all around with the effort tonight,” coach Cory Nagel said. “Our main guys produced, we kept the other team off the board and we were able to spread the playing time around.”
