Hartman Creek comes to Holly Center

Lisa Bey will present “Building Hartman Creek” at 6 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 20, at the Holly History and Genealogy Center.

Bey, a naturalist at Hartman Creek State Park, will talk about the park’s past, present and future.

The program will take place in the lower-level meeting room of the center, located at 321 S. Main St., in Waupaca.

Since 1966, Hartman Creek State Park has served Waupaca area residents and tourists alike, offering outdoor activities, camping, lake access and a glimpse of Wisconsin wildlife.

However, its life before was different – as a home to American Indians and early European settlers and later home to Whispering Pines Park.

Today the park continues to change and grow with its addition of a log cabin and various ongoing projects.

Refreshments at the program will be sponsored by the Friends of Hartman Creek State Park.
