By Holly Neumann

Bryce Huettner ran the ball for 304 yards and scored six touchdowns to lead the Iola-Scandinavia Thunderbirds to a 49-15 homecoming win over the Manawa Wolves.

Huettner scored twice in the first half of the game and Carter Kurki added another to put the T-Birds up 21-0.

Early in the third quarter Manawa’s Mason Wiesner connected with Nate Reynolds on a 45-yard pass for the Wolves first touchdown of the game, bringing the score to 21-8.

The T-Birds offensive line continued to make holes for Huettner to go through, allowing him to score four more times and expanding the gap to 49-8.

Manawa was able to get on the board one final time on a 44-yard run by Seth Forbes. The deficit however was too big to overcome and the T-Birds took the win at 49-15.

Topping the rushing stats for Iola-Scandinavia was Huettner. He carried the ball 31 times for 304 yards, followed by Carter Kurki with nine carries for 75 yards and Conner Kurki on seven carries for 64 yards.
