Clintonville man faces meth charge

John E. Bohl, 22, Clintonville, is charged with possession of methamphetamine, failing to stop for an officer and possession of drug paraphernalia.

On Sept. 9, Clintonville Police Sgt. Chris Wendorf was standing outside his squad car when he observed a red Dodge Durango turn north on Hemlock Street from Eighth Street.

Wendorf recognized Bohl as the driver and believed he did not have a valid driver’s license.

According to the criminal complaint, Bohl’s car window was open, but he did not respond when Wendorf ordered him to stop.

Wendorf entered his car, activated his emergency lights and siren and followed Bohl until he pulled into a driveway on Ninth Street.

As he approached the vehicle, Wendorf smelled marijuana and reported finding marijuana on the floor between the door and the driver’s seat.

He also found a backpack on the front passenger floor with a glass bong and several gem bags. One of the bags had flakes that later tested positive for meth, the complaint says.

Bohl was released on a $2,000 signature bond.
