Dead Man’s Carnival

Vaudeville show at the Gerold

Professor Pinkerton’s Dead Man’s Carnival returns to the Gerold Opera House on Saturday, Oct. 13.

The doors of the opera house open at 6:30 p.m., and the show starts at 7:30 p.m.

Dead Man’s Carnival is a nationally touring Milwaukee-based live music variety show.

The show combines their love for turn of the century vaudeville with the uncompromising passion of the do-it-yourself underground punk rock community.

Acting as more than just an evening of entertainment, the performers create a time and place for unusual displays that would otherwise have no place to bloom.

The show is presented in a format that emphasizes crowd interaction, improvisation and inner group collaboration.

It has a rotating cast of dozens of performers from throughout the country, and is writing the next chapter in Wisconsin’s long circus legacy.

This is the group’s third show at the Gerold.

It played there twice in 2017.

The group is currently touring in Wisconsin and elsewhere, and also working on new material.

“We’re looking forward to seeing what they bring this year,” said Kathy Fehl, artistic director of Wega Arts.

She encourages people to purchase tickets in advance, as they are selling fast for the upcoming show in Weyauwega.

Advance general seating tickets are $20 for adults and $8 for children 12 and under.

Tables of eight may be reserved.

Tickets may be purchased at wegaarts.org, as well as at the Book Cellar in Waupaca and Wega Motors in Weyauwega.

The price increases to $22 and $10 respectively at the door.

The show is intended for all audiences, but may be a bit scary for very young children.

The historic opera house features a full cash bar.

Items, such as nachos, hot dogs, desserts and popcorn, are for sale that evening as well.
