Wolves thwart Indians

 

Wega-Fremont suffers homecoming loss

The Weyauwega-Fremont Indians lost their homecoming game 45-14 against the Manawa Wolves in an Oct. 5 game in Weyauwega.

The Wolves ctook a commanding 25-0 lead in the first half of the game.

Kenny Reynolds and Nate Reynolds each scored on passes from quarterback Mason Wiesner, Seth Forbes scored on a 68-yard run and Wiesner kicked a field goal to complete the scoring in the first half of the game.

Shortly into the third quarter Wiesner ran the ball 2 yards for another Manawa touchdown, widening the gap to 31-0.

The Indians scored their first touchdown in the third quarter when Kolden Baehman passed the ball to Sawyer Hintz for 10 yards. Baehman later connected with Levi Erdmann for the 2-point conversion, leaving the Wolves still in the lead with a score of 31-8.

The Wolves answered with a touchdown of their own. Deion Stroud brought down a pass from Wiesner extending the score to 38-8.

As time was winding down in the fourth quarter, Wiesner ran the ball in 50 yards on a quarterback keeper for another Manawa touchdown, putting the Wolves up 45-8.

W-F got into scoring position one more time and Baehman was able to complete a pass to Erdmann for a final score of the game with the final score of 45-14.

Manawa improves their record to 5-3 and will host Wittenberg-Birnamwood on Oct. 12.

W-F falls to 0-8 and will host Shiocton on Oct. 12.
