Two face heroin, meth charges

A traffic stop in Mukwa led to felony charges against two Waupaca residents.

Karena L. Allen, 26, and Allen L. Taylor, 28, are each charged with possession of narcotics, possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Shortly before 2 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 7, Waupaca County Deputy Sara Besel stopped a westbound vehicle near the Royalton Station on State Highway 54.

According to the criminal complaint, Taylor was driving with a suspended license. Allen was the passenger.

Deputy James Santiago arrived with his K-9 partner Cuda, who alerted for the presence of drugs in the vehicle.

The deputies found a a total of eight syringes, a cooker tin, a cotton swab, a glass pipe, 0.5 grams of meth and 0.1 gram of heroin, the complaint says.

Allen reportedly said they bought the drugs from someone Taylor knew in New London, while Taylor reportedly said all the drugs belonged to Allen.

Allen was released from custody on a $2,000 signature bond.

Taylor, who was also charged with misdemeanor bail jumping after his Oct. 7 arrest, remains in jail on a $1,000 cash bond.

On May 7, Taylor was convicted of two counts of disorderly conduct as acts of domestic abuse and placed on 18 months of probation.

On May 18, Taylor was charged with disorderly conduct as an act of domestic abuse and misdemeanor bail jumping.

On June 11, he was charged with battery, criminal damage to property, disorderly conduct as acts of domestic abuse and misdemeanor bail jumping.

On Sept. 4, he was charged with disorderly conduct as an act of domestic abuse.
