Pingel, Lyle E.

Lyle E. Pingel, age 86 of Waupaca, passed away peacefully surrounded by the people he had the greatest impact on, his family, on the afternoon of October 16, 2018.

He was born March 23, 1932 to the late Wallace and Eva (Knutson) Pingel in the Town of Clayton, and married Etola Heider on August 11, 1951. Lyle was a proud Army Veteran, enlisted during the Korean Conflict. After retiring from owning and operating E & L Building Maintenance, he moved to the Waupaca area and volunteered at King Veteran Home. He was also a member of the National Honor Degree Association, Cootie as a member of the VFW. Lyle’s family was the center of his life. He had an incredible sense of humor which has transcended generations. He enjoyed spending time on the deck of his home on the lake, and was a true craftsman, having made numerous pieces of furniture.

Lyle is survived by his wife of 67 years, Etola; six children: Lyle (Mary) Pingel Jr., Linda Pingel, Laureen (Russ) Johnson, LaDonna (Randy Olson) Pingel, Lane (Renee Bisner) Pingel, and Loren (Vicki) Pingel; as well as by his brother, Wayne Pingel. Lyle enjoyed time with his 13 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren, and will be missed by a lot of family and a ton of friends.

A memorial service for Lyle will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 20, 2018 at Neenah’s Westgor Funeral Home. A visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established. Condolences: www.westgorfuneralhomes.com

Lyle’s family would like to extend a special thank you to the nurses and staff of ThedaCare at Home Hospice, and to the neighbors on the lake who have always been there, and continue to be there.
