Suspect charged with burglary

A New London man is accused of stealing a laptop from his mother.

Justin P. Goodreau, 27, is charged with burglary and felony bail jumping.

On Friday, Oct. 12, New London Police Officer Ben Schmidt spoke with a woman who reported her laptop had been stolen.

She suspected her son, Goodreau.

The woman told Schmidt she believed Goodreau was with his girlfriend at another friend’s house.

According to the criminal complaint, the woman contacted the friend who reportedly said Goodeau brought a laptop to her home and erased its memory.

On Sept. 12, Goodeau was charged with felony strangulation, battery and disorderly conduct as acts of domestic abuse, and additional charges of battery and disorderly conduct.

He was then released on a $5,000 signature bond.

Following the most recent charges, Goodeau remains in custody on a $1,500 cash bond.
