Mother faces felony charge
Erica L. Durrant, 37, Waupaca, is charged with felony failure to pay child support.
According to the criminal complaint, Durrant has not made any child support payments since Aug. 31, 2016.
She allegedly owes $8,459 in back child support.
In October 2013, the court ordered Durrant to pay $200 per month in support for two children.
Since that court order, Waupaca County judges have issued five warrants and three affidavits of contempt against Durrant for failure to make payments or appear in court.
On Feb. 22, Judge Troy Nielsen committed her to 120 days in jail for contempt of court after she failed to make a partial catch-up payment of $3,333.
The day before her commitment, Durrant was arrested on one of her outstanding warrants at the scene of a crash in the Waupaca Kmart parking lot.
Officers reported finding a used syringe, a snort tube and two Lyrica pills in her purse.
Durrant was charged with possession of an illegally obtained prescription drug and cited with operating with a suspended license.
On Aug. 29, Durrant failed to appear in court and a bench warrant was issued.
She was arrested on Oct. 17, charged with failure to pay child support on Oct. 18 and then released after posting a $500 cash bond on Oct. 19.
Durrant faces up to 3 1/2 years in prison if convicted of failure to pay child support.
