Wall, Kieth L.

Kieth Lovejoy Wall, Weyauwega, age 96, passed away at home on October 26, 2018.

Kieth was born on March 7, 1922 during the worst blizzard of the year, the only child of Linden “Dutch” and Neta (Lovejoy) Wall. Kieth went through the Weyauwega public school system from kindergarten through the 12th grade and graduated from Weyauwega High School in the spring of 1940. He was active in football, basketball and baseball in high school. After high school, he played basketball with the Chiefs in Weyauwega and baseball for teams in Weyauwega and Waupaca, Wisconsin and in Williams, Minnesota. He worked with his parents on the family farm north of Weyauwega and was employed by the cheese factory to haul milk.

From 1943 to 1946 Kieth served in the Army-Air Corps being assigned after basic training in Miami to a replacement depot in Augusta, Georgia, three camps in California (San Bernadino, Antioc, and San Francisco), and transport outfits in New Guinea and the Philippines. Upon returning home from the war, he farmed with his parents.

On January 25, 1948 he married Eileen Kriese at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Weyauwega. Kieth worked at various jobs (Faulks Brothers, Louis Jezwinski, Struck’s Sawmill, Koplien Electric, Dusheks, Waupaca Foundry) throughout his life, all the while farming and sometimes logging with his father on the side. From 1949 until 1955 he also helped his parents with seeding and harvesting on a farm purchased jointly with his folks in Baudette, Minnesota. He retired from Faulks Brothers in 1984, but continued to work for them part-time until 1997. Together, he and Eileen built three homes in the Town of Weyauwega, doing a good share of the labor and finishing work themselves. Kieth enjoyed playing most any kind of sports, including hunting and snowmobiling. He took up woodworking in his retirement and built a cherised china cupboard for his wife, each of his daughters and grandchildren, as well as a handmade replica of a horse-drawn wagon for each of his three sons-in-law.

Kieth was a good husband and a loving, supportive father. He is survived by his wife, Eileen, with whom he celebrated 70 years of marriage; three daughters, Linda (Bill) Wenberg of Fox Crossing, Jeanne (Wayne) Kaminske of Greenville, and Lori (Bob) Ehrenberg of Weyauwega; grandchildren: Kelly (Don) Dornseif, Heidi (Ernesto Padilla-Lopez) Wenberg, Julie (Andy) Zidek, Tami (Todd) Healy, Tim Ehrenberg (James Scheurell), and grandson-in-law Chad Parsons; great-grandchildren: Diana (Connor) Brown, Andrea Sword, Katelyn and Braden Zidek, Savannah, Leah and Logan Parsons, and Brooklynn, Paige and Maci Healy; great-great-grandchildren: Izabelle, Kiera and Vincent; as well as many special nieces, nephews and Lovejoy cousins. Twins ran in the grandchildren generation; Cameron and Caden Parsons (identical), Leah and Logan Parsons, and Paige and Maci Healy (identical).
