Mark S. Pichelmeyer, age 63, New London passed away at home on November 3, 2018.
He was born on November 18, 1954. He grew up in New London and attended high school there and eventually graduated from Mercy Medical Center School of Nursing in Oshkosh as a Registered Nurse and worked in the ICU at Theda Clark, Neenah. Here is where he met and married Theresa O’Brien at St. Margaret Mary Church in Neenah in 1981. They divorced in 2007 but remained good friends. Together they had two children, Jacob and Tara, who were the joy of his life. Eventually Mark went back to school and finished his Bachelor of Science in Mortuary Science. He worked as a funeral director in New London for many years. His kindness and empathy for those he served was exemplary. Mark loved hunting, fishing, and camping. In his free time he could be found on his boat, pontoon or out in the fields hunting. After his children, his dogs were his second greatest love and could always be found at his side. Mark was a friend who would be there when you needed him. Mark certainly wasn’t perfect and faced many challenges in his later life. Life was not kind and he suffered many health problems. God called him home to heal his tortured soul. Thorough it all, he knew his children were his greatest accomplishment.
Mark is survived by his children, Tara and Jacob; sisters, Ann Pichelmeyer, Diane (Iver) Rudie, Farrel (Jim) Avery; nieces, Carol and Kiersten; nephews: Scott; Craig; David Avery; Preston Rudie and many grandnieces and grandnephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Adolph and Virginia.
