Suspect faces up to 40 years in prison if convicted.

Masson A. Minton, 18, Waupaca, is charged with attempted second-degree sexual assault of a child and use of a computer to facilitate a child sex crime.

On Oct. 30, Waupaca Police Officer Wes Zube met with a 14-year-old girl who said Minton constantly begged her for sex and threatened to “force” her if she did not comply.

According to the criminal complaint, the girl showed Zube digital texts she exchanged with Minton.

After she reminded him she was not 18 years old, Minton allegedly texted back, “Ur right your not but i can still do it with you Im not 18 yet.”

“No you can’t you’d get charged as an adult …” she wrote.

“Yes if only the girl did not want it or wasn’t willing to let it happen,” Minton allegedly replied.

“No even if it is consensual,” she texted.

“Well then lock me up already,” Minton responded, according to the criminal complaint.

Another 14-year-old girl told police she sent Minton a nude image of herself because he “kept asking and asking” until she gave in.

Minton was released from custody on a $5,000 signature bond with the conditions that he have no unsupervised contact with girls under age 18 and no social media presence.

He was age 17 at the time of the alleged incidents.
