Manawa Community Living Center work on schedule

By Holly Neumann

The new 4,500-square-foot skilled nursing wing at the Manawa Community Living Center is moving along as planned.

Center management anticipates the addition will open in early February.

“We have noticed a growing need in the community for both long term and short term skilled nursing care,” said Business Office Manager Brittany Preuss.

The addition will feature 10 private rooms with private bathroom and shower, new dining room and activity space.

“We have completed the framing and installed the windows and our new parking lot will soon be completed,” said Preuss. “Our residents have greatly enjoyed watching to progress of the project. Everyone is very excited to see it when it’s completed.”

There will also be a new memory garden patio space, featuring a pergola and picnic area.

Anyone interested in making a donation to the project can do so in memory of a loved one.

“A plaque in honor of their loved one will be placed in the memory garden,” Preuss said.

Donations can be mailed to 400 E. Fourth St., Manawa, WI 54949.

The Manawa Community Living Center is five-star rated by the Centers of Medicare and Medicaid.

“We have trained staff that understand the needs of all patient types,” said Preuss. “We are proud to offer the highest level of quality care and the lowest rates in the area and we are excited to be able to offer more rooms for accommodating our community members.”

A waiting list has been started and rooms are currently available.
