Ruth M. (Paters) Sullivan, age 91, passed away on Tuesday, November 13, 2018 at St. Paul Elder Service, Kaukauna.
She was born in Marion, WI on September 12, 1927, daughter of the late Theodore and Marian (Christians) Paters. Her family moved to Manawa a short time later where she attended schools and graduated from high school with the class of 1945. Following a year at UW Madison, she was employed for several years at A Sturm & Sons, Manawa. In later years, Ruth served in the parish office at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Appleton. Ruth was united in marriage to Thomas Sullivan on November 7, 1953 and together they raised two sons and a daughter.
She is survived by her husband Thomas; sons, Timothy (Kathy) Sullivan, Green Bay and Gerald (Gina) Sullivan, New London; grandchildren: Sammi (Dan) Knetter, Molly (Steven) Babbitts, Bryan (Lauren) Sullivan, Shaunna (Brandon) Ferge, Corey (Sloan) Sullivan, Brittany (Michael) Fisher; sister, Joan (Les) Angell; brothers, Robert (Mary) Paters and John Paters; sister in-law, Nancy Paters. Ruth is further survived by five great-granddaughters, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Preceding her in death were her parents; daughter Jane Sullivan; an infant son; brothers, Roland Paters and Ted Paters Jr. and sisters-in-law, Rita Paters and Donna Paters.
Funeral Mass for Ruth will be held on Saturday, November 17, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church in New London with Fr. John Kleinschmidt officiating. Visitation will be held on Saturday at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of Mass. Burial will be in the St. Patrick’s Catholic Cemetery, Lebanon.
