Wolves open with a win

Manawa defeats Rosholt at home

The Manawa Wolves boys’ basketball team defeated the Rosholt Hornets 72-56 Tuesday in a non-conference season opener.

Jeven Sachtjen sank 11 of his game-high 15 points in the first half of the game, giving the Wolves 35-30 lead.

Manawa continued their scoring drive in the second half, with Ethan Wiesner pouring in 15 points to secure the win.

Topping the scoring for Rosholt was Cade Bowker with 28 points, followed by Hunter Garski with 10 and Zach Lepak with 8.

Leading the way for Manawa was Ethan Wiesner with 24 points, followed by Mason Wiesner and Sachtjen with 14 each.

Manawa will host the Almond Eagles at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 26.
