Jane Myhra will speak about writing “Sword of Gold: Journey to Ashland” at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 4, at the Iola Village Library.

“Sword of Gold” is the first book in a series.

She has just finished the second book, “Heir to the Throne,” which is a prequel to the first book and has started writing the third story, with plans for more.

Prior to this, she published a book of poems titled “The Robin’s Song.”

Myhra, a native of Iola and a retired journalist, has written for the Iola Herald, Waupaca County Post, Wisconsin State Farmer, Manawa Advocate, Wisconsin Horseman’s News and the Tomorrow River Times.

She is active with the Iola Lioness, currently serving as the local secretary and as the district vice president. She is also secretary of the Iola Winter Carnival Committee.

She describes herself as a writer for people who love to read. Positive feedback is what keeps her going.

Copies of her book will be for sale, and those who have already purchased one may bring them to be autographed.

The Iola Village Library is located at 180 S. Main St., with a street level, handicap-accessible entrance at the rear of the building.
