Q&A with Coach Nick Yaeger

Number of years as head coach: Fourth season.

Returning varsity athletes: Chelsey Birling (12), Kaylie Branstrom (12), Elly Arndt (11), Lizzy Weatherwax (11), Abby King (11), Lindsy Carpenter (11), Erin Viergutz (11).

Team goals/expectations: We just want to take the next step and improve upon last year. We want to be more competitive.

Team’s strengths: We have most of last year’s team intact. Hopefully that helps.

Team’s weaknesses: We don’t have a lot of experience winning. We need to learn how to win and make a habit of it. We are also still a young group.

Biggest game on the schedule: The biggest game is the next game on the schedule.

What would make for a successful season: If we improve from last year and just keep getting better and better. We play in a tough conference, and we want to be as competitive as we can.

Why fans should be excited for this year’s team: I think this is a fun group to watch. Hopefully our style of play will make it exciting for people to watch. This group has a chance to do good things on the court.
