By Erik Buchinger

Number of years as head coach: 17th season.

Returning varsity athletes: Austin Spindler (10), Eric Barnett (12), Landon Thern (10), Jacob Collar (10), Colin Schuler (12), Tyler Sanofsky (12), Ben Diedrich (10), Bryce Gerner (12), Austin Wasmund (11), Brayden Belille (11), Dylan Gocke (11).

Team goals/expectations: To wrestle an exciting, attacking style putting points on the board and being competitive in every match.

Team’s strengths: Quality depth at the lower weight classes. Good Leadership from our seniors.

Team’s weaknesses: Lack of experience and numbers at the upper weight classes.

Biggest events on the schedule: Honestly, they are all big.

What would make for a successful season: Developing quality young men of good moral character that will go on to be pillars and leaders in their community. Developing young men that will someday be good employees, husbands and fathers.

Why fans should be excited for this year’s team: We will wrestle a style that is entertaining, fun to watch, aggressive, attacking, putting points on the board. Home duals will especially be exciting with some added audio visual effects. You will not want to miss the home duals. Also, getting the chance to see the No. 1 ranked wrestler in the country Eric Barnett compete is always exciting. Not many people can saw they get to see a wrestler of that caliber compete on a weekly basis. Very exciting for our team, school, and community.
