Moe, Jane E.

Jane E. Moe, age 91, of Waupaca, WI, passed away on Thursday, December 20, 2018, at Park Vista-Legacy.

Jane was born in Iola, WI, on October 3, 1927, the youngest of six children of the late Jay and Jennie (Johnson) Leach. On May 1, 1948, Jane married Raymond Moe in Waupaca, and he preceded her in death on April 13, 2010. For years, Jane creatively combined self employment with being a stay-at-home Mom. Then she worked for 30 years at Stratton’s Drug Store. She was an active member of Farmington Lutheran Church, as Sunday school teacher, member of the ladies aid and choir, and organizer of fundraisers and sanctuary refurbishment. She was a volunteer with the American Cancer Society and Bethany Home. Jane chose beautiful clothes, jewelry and home furnishings; and she gave beautiful gifts. She loved to dance and loved to sing. Jane liked to point out that her high school years were the war years: 1941-1945. She and Ray loved being with their children and grandchildren. They enjoyed breakfasts out with friends, playing sheepshead, relaxing in Northern WI and traveling to other states.

Jane is survived by her children: Mary (Peter) Vandenberg, Appleton; Jerome Moe, Nashville, TN; and Jay (Teri) Moe, Waupaca; her grandchildren: Philip (Fay) Vandenberg, Eric (Meredith) Vandenberg, Jared Moe, Nathan Moe and Griffin Moe; her great-grandchildren: Aiden and Prudence Moe; Owen, Isaac, Marcus and Arlo Vandenberg; sisters-in-law, Joyce Moe, Marian (Earl) Breier; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sisters and brothers-in-law, Lolus (Coleman) Hoppe and Phyllis (Herbert) Neubauer; her brothers and sisters-in-law, Vern (Genevieve, Olga) Leach, Riley (Harriet) Leach, Donald (Ardyce) Leach; nephew, Dan Leach; and brothers- and sisters-in-law: Maynard (Joyce) Moe, James Rusch, Philip (Phyllis) Moe and Alan (Adeline) Moe.

The Funeral Service will be on Wednesday, December 26, at 11 a.m. at the Holly Funeral Home in Waupaca with Reverend Dale Wilson officiating. Burial will be in Farmington Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be on Wednesday morning from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the funeral home.

Jane’s family wishes to thank the staff at Park Vista-Legacy for all the special care and friendship Mom enjoyed while residing there. In memory of Jane, a memorial fund has been established at Farmington Lutheran Church. Holly Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
