Ronald Arthur Valentine, age 89 of New London, passed away on Saturday, December 22, 2018 at ThedaCare in Appleton. Ron was born on September 24, 1929 in Manitowoc to the late Arthur and Elsie (Ely) Valentine. He was united in marriage to Shirley Pautz on June 12, 1954. She preceded him in death in 2002. Ron enjoyed woodworking and was a model car collector. He enjoyed spending time at his cottage in Spooner and fishing on Bass Lake. Ron worked for JC Penney for many years. He was a food connoisseur and enjoyed describing his meals to family and friends.
Ron is survived by his children, Kurt Valentine, Minneapolis, Nancy Valentine, Neenah and John (Jane) Valentine, California; 6 grandchildren, Emily Heeg, Mindy Heeg, Jill Heeg, Anastasia Valentine, Jordan Valentine and Jessica Valentine and 4 great-grandchildren, Preston, Mya, Evan and Avery.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents and wife Shirley.
The funeral service for Ron will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 28, 2018 at Cline & Hanson Funeral Home in New London. Visitation will take place from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home Friday. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Manitowoc.
