Child sex charges filed

Suspect held on $50,000 cash bond

A former Waupaca resident is accused of having sex with a 13-year-old girl.

Dustin K. Arndt, 22, is charged with first-degree sexual assault of a child with use of force, repeated sexual assault of the same child, two counts of felony child abuse as party to a crime, felony physical abuse of a child and sex with a child 16 years or older.

On Nov. 27, 2018, Waupaca County Detective Sgt. Cammeron Durrant received a report from the county’s Department of Health and Human Services regarding the alleged sexual assault of a child.

An investigator with the Child Advocacy Center spoke with a 13-year-old girl on Nov. 29.

According to the criminal complaint, the girl first met Arndt at a Waupaca city park about two years earlier.

The two remained friends, although the girl initially told Arndt she did not want to date him.

While Arndt was living in a Waupaca apartment, he allegedly threatened the girl into having sex with him.

“If you tell your parents or anyone, or if it gets to the police and I go to jail I would get out and you will regret it and die,” Arndt told the girl, according to the complaint.

In early 2018, Arndt moved into the girl’s home in the town of Dayton, where he stayed in another bedroom.

One night, Arndt and the girl were sending angry texts back and forth over Snapchat.

The girl texted, “You never loved me. You just want me as your sex buddy,” the complaint says.

Arndt then allegedly told the girl to come out onto the section of the roof between their bedroom windows.

She told investigators Arndt was waiting for her.

He slammed her against the wall, lifted her up and choked her.

She said he threatened to throw her off the roof if she ever said that again.

Arndt was also accused of punching the girl in the stomach so she would not become pregnant.

Arndt was eventually kicked out of the house by the girl’s parents.

According to the criminal complaint, Arndt is responsible for giving the girl a sexually transmitted disease.

A 17-year-old New London girl also reported Arndt sexually assaulted her.

She told investigators Arndt wanted to control where or when she could spend time with her family and friends.

Arndt reportedly sent Facebook messages to the 17-year-old girl, indicating he had sex with a 13-year-old when he was 21.

The complaint presents an exchange of Facebook messages in which the New London girl said, “Sometimes I just don’t want to have sex.”

“I need it every day,” Arndt replied.

“But, you won’t get it every day,” the girl said.

“And that’s why I’m so angry most of the time,” Arndt replied.

Arndt faces up to 60 years in prison on each of the sexual assault charges, six years on each count of child abuse and 15 years on the felony physical abuse.
