Manawa man faces felony pot charges

Neil J. Buschke, 21, Manawa, is charged with three felony counts of delivery of marijuana near a school, two counts of maintaining a drug trafficking place, one count of possession of a controlled substance near a school with intent to deliver and one count of possession of marijuana.

According to the criminal complaint, a police informant arranged over Facebook Messenger and Snapchat to make three purchases totaling 5 grams of marijuana wax from Buschke.

Weed wax has a higher concentration of THC than dried leaves. THC is the psychoactive chemical that causes users to get high.

The wax sales allegedly occurred on Dec. 24 and Dec. 27, at Buschke’s home on Ash Street in Manawa.

His home is located about 900 feet from St. Paul’s Lutheran School.

Officers executed a search warrant at Buschke’s home and seized 10 grams of wax.

Investigators reported finding numerous Facebook messages between Buschke and other people regarding the use and sale of pot.

Buschke was released from custody after posting a $1,000 cash bond.
