Three recognized for community service

American Legion Post 226 recognized the Manawa Police Department and Manawa Rural Fire Department at Manawa City Hall on Dec. 21.
“I cannot say enough about the police and fire departments for all they do,” said Legion Post Commander Mark Melton. “They offer us outstanding community service and go above and beyond for the city of Manawa.”
The Legion also recognized Kevin Mitchell, owner of TK’s Bar and Grill.
“Kevin has done a lot for the American Legion,” said Melton. “He has hosted a pancake breakfast and even put in a Missing Man Table at his business. It makes us proud to have someone like this willing to lend a helping hand when needed, and also to recognize our veterans.”
