Firm designing concept for Clintonville swimming pond

Proposed pond could replace outdoor pool facility

By Bert Lehman

Development has begun in Clintonville for a conceptual plan for a city swimming pond.

Clintonville Parks and Recreation Director Justin Mc Auly told the city’s parks and recreation committee on Jan. 3 the concept plan is being created by Wisconsin Lake and Pond Resource LLC.

Wisconsin Lake and Pond Resource is scheduled to conduct a site visit at the current outdoor municipal swimming pool around Jan. 17, Mc Auly said. The preliminary concept plan will then be developed between Jan. 21-25.

From Jan. 28 through Feb. 1, the city will review and comment on the concept plan. Everything is scheduled to be finished by Feb. 8.

Clintonville Mayor Richard Beggs asked if the city was considering any other sites.

“I think we’d probably have to purchase property if we’re going to do another site,” Mc Auly said. “I don’t know where else to go. Most of my parks are too small or are in flood plains.”

Once the plan is completed, the city will be able to compare it to the concept plan the city has already received for a new outdoor municipal swimming pool.
