Driver stopped for revoked license
Jay M. Wanty, 55, Waupaca, is charged with a felony offense of drunken driving.
On Friday, Jan. 18, Weyauwega Police Officer Justin Malueg stopped a vehicle on State Highway 110 near Lakeshore Drive because the vehicle’s owner had a revoked driver’s license.
A breath test indicated the driver, identified as Wanty, had a .128 blood-alcohol level.
Wanty was released on a $1,000 cash bond with the condition that he maintain absolute sobriety and comply with the jail’s monitoring program for alcohol consumption.
Wanty has five prior OWI convictions, dating back to February 1992.
