Winter Rec Fest canceled
Organizers cite unsafe conditions
Winter Rec Fest will not be held at Waupaca’s Swan Park on Saturday, Feb. 9.
“Winter Rec Fest is canceled due to the unsafe conditions of the sled hill,” said Kassandra Humke, the city’s recreation program supervisor.
Parks and Recreation Department staff made the decision on Monday, Feb. 4.
The event was to include sledding, a dog sled team, snowshoe hikes, food and fireworks.
This would have been the fifth annual year for the event.
