Clintonville boys’ basketball advances

Truckers move on to regional semifinal

The Clintonville boys’ basketball team advanced to the regional semifinal game with a 73-34 home win over Amherst on Tuesday, Feb. 26.

The Truckers went into halftime ahead 45-13 and outscored Amherst 28-21 in the second half.

Eleven Clintonville players scored, and Aiden Polzin led the way with 19 points.

Truckers Sam Wittman and Presley Rosenow each added 13 points.

The No. 6 seed Truckers will play No. 3 seed Freedom for the third time this season on the road Friday, March 1 at 7 p.m.

Clintonville lost to Freedom 62-43 in Freedom on Jan. 14 and was defeated 57-51 at home against Freedom on Feb. 18.
