Kettlewell, John F.

John F. Kettlewell, age 90, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 27, 2019 at ThedaCare Regional Medical Center in Appleton, WI.

He was born June 28, 1928 in Waushara County, WI; son of John R. and Clara (Kraft) Kettlewell. John served in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged on January 18, 1947. On June 17, 1950, he married Mary Ann Christensen in Saxeville, WI and together they shared 61 years of marriage before her passing on February 12, 2012. John started out farming for a number of years before starting his own plumbing business. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening African Violets, Purple Martins, sharing the Bible with others, and taking trips out west, and spending time with family and friends. John will be dearly missed by all of his loving family and friends.

John is survived by five children: Linda (Jim) Goddard of Waupaca, WI; Wendy Kettlewell of Oak Harbor, WA; Daniel (Penny) Kettlewell of Waupaca, WI; Rebecca (Mike) Bartley of Wauwatosa, WI, and Karla (Jason) Williams of Sedro Woolley, WA; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren with one on the way; a daughter-in-law, Sue (Ron “Toby”) Welch of Black Creek, WI; three brothers, Dick Kettlewell of Omro, WI; Bob (Diane) Kettlewell of Berlin, WI, and Wayne (Mary) Kettlewell of Waukau, WI; and three sisters-in-law, Wanda Kettlewell of Pickett, WI; Sandy Kettlewell of Poy Sippi, WI, and Eileen Christensen of Waupaca, WI. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Clara Kettlewell; his wife, Mary Ann Kettlewell; a son, Larry Kettlewell; three brothers, Tom, Ken, and Jim Kettlewell; two sisters, Marion and Beverly Kettlewell; a sister-in-law, Sandy Kettlewell; and a brother-in-law, Willard Christensen.

A Celebration of John’s Life will be on Saturday, March 2, 2019 from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. at the Saxeville Town Hall, W4022 Archer Avenue, Pine River, WI 54965 where a memorial service will follow at 3:00 p.m., Leone Ferrin officiating. The Holly Funeral Home of Waupaca is assisting the family with arrangements.
