Waupaca County sheriff’s report March 4


• March 3 – A 19-year-old woman was reported found lying intoxicated in the road in New London.

• March 3 – Dollar General, West Fulton Street, Waupaca, reported an older man had been in the back of the store talking to himself for nearly two hours.

• March 3 – Kwik Trip, West Fulton, Waupaca, reported a 34-year-old woman walked into the store saying she was kicked out of her home, did not have a phone or winter clothes and would like to speak to an officer.

• March 2 – Caller from the 700 block of West Jennings Street, New London, reported finding footprints from the woods to his truck, then to his shed. He did not believe anything was missing.

• March 2 – Caller from the E7900 block of Weiland Road, New London, reported two pairs of sunglasses and leather gloves were stolen from his truck.

• March 2 – A second caller from the E7900 block of Weiland Road, New London, reported his black Toyota 4Runner was stolen.

• March 2 – Caller from the N3100 block of Silver Lake Drive, Waupaca, reported $300 had been stolen from the center console of his pickup truck.

• March 2 – New London caller reported she gave her 37-year-old daughter a ride from Menasha. She stopped to buy gas and cigarettes and later discovered her driver’s license was missing.

• March 2 – New London caller reported her 15-year-old son was out of control, breaking things and threatening to harm himself.

• March 2 – Caller from the 1400 block of Wolf River Drive, Fremont, said the house next door has been empty for a couple of years and now a “river of water” was coming from the house.

• March 1 – A Scandinavia man went to the Waupaca County Sheriff’s Office to report his wife opened a cellphone account without his permission.

• March 1 – Caller from the E5500 block of North Water Drive, Manawa, reported she was trying to retrieve her belongings and the other people living there would not allow her. Dispatch heard screaming in the background.

• March 1 – Fleet Farm, Waupaca, reported a man left the store with merchandise under his jacket.

• March 1 – Caller from the 600 block of Oak Street, Waupaca, reported someone was “going nuts and flipping out.” Dispatch could hear yelling in the background.

• March 1 – Caller from Timber Drive, Waupaca, reported she hit a deer and apparently the deer was stuck under her vehicle the entire drive home. According to dispatch, she refused to answer questions, became irate and hung up the phone.

• Feb. 28 – A Waupaca woman reported she received a call from someone who claimed to be with Social Security, threatening to issue a warrant for her arrest. She said she gave the caller the last four digits of her Social Security number.

• Feb. 28 – An Iola caller reported her tax return was rejected because her Social Security number was already being used by someone else.

• Feb. 28 – A 76-year-old Clintonville man reported his wife answered a call from someone claiming to be their grandson. The caller said he was in jail in Green Bay and told her to buy $2,000 worth of eBay cards, then call back and read the numbers from the cards. When they did this, the caller demanded another $2,000, and they realized they had been scammed.

• Feb. 28 – Waupaca caller reported receiving multiple harassing and threatening voicemails from her ex-husband.

• Feb. 27 – Caller from an apartment building on High Street, Waupaca, reported her daughters, ages 8 and 6, were playing in the hallway when they found a pill. The 8-year-old dared the 6-year-old to swallow the pill. They are now at the hospital.
