Poullette, Jo Ann (nee Sweney)

Jo Ann Poullette (nee Sweney), 84, Naples, FL passed away peacefully on February 26, 2019 after a short battle with cancer.

She was born in Springfield, IL, grew up in Peoria, IL, attended the University of Illinois, and lived most of her adult life in Waupaca. Jo loved to cook and entertain—and enjoyed visiting and later living on Rainbow Lake for many years.

Jo is survived by her husband, Dr. Tom Poullette; sister, Susan (Ken) Wolters of Estero, FL; children: Mark (Tanya) Howard of Denver, CO; Thad (Diana) Howard of Appleton, WI; Jay (Nicki) Howard of Sister Bay, WI; and Anne (Cody) McInnes of Jackson, WY; grandchildren: Dana Howard, Waupaca; Will and Tess Howard, Appleton; and Millie McInnes, Jackson; stepsons: George (Sara) Poullette of Kenosha, WI; and Charles (Susan) Poullette of Mt. Prospect, IL, and their children: Sam, Maddie and Thomas Poullette, Kenosha and Alec Poullette, Mt. Prospect. She is also survived by William Howard of Waupaca from a previous marriage. Jo was preceded in death by her father James Sweney, mother Lucille Samples, stepfather Virgil Samples, brother James Samples, and stepbrother Robert Samples.

The family is immensely grateful for the friends and neighbors who generously helped care for Jo in her final weeks.
