March exhibit at Waupaca library

The Waupaca Area Public Library is celebrating local student art with its annual Youth Art Month exhibit.

The exhibit showcases the artwork of Waupaca’s elementary, middle and high school students.

The four-week installation opened on March 2 and runs through March 30.

Located in the library’s lower-level Exhibit Room, the exhibit is free to the public and open during regular library hours.

Art teachers at each school chose artwork to be displayed and set up the exhibit.

The artwork ranges from pencil drawings and paintings to ceramics.

Local judges selected the top artwork.

Judges gave 10 top awards, which received certificates and cash prizes from the Waupaca Library Foundation, as well as honorable mentions.

A reception was held on March 5, to honor all participants and award winners.
