Police dog finds heroin

Suspect faces felony narcotics charge

Jeremyah D. Zander, 22, Manawa, is charged with possession of narcotics.

At approximately 9 p.m. Saturday, March 2, Waupaca County Deputy Matt Whitaker reported seeing a white Ford Ranger cross the centerline between the two westbound lanes of U.S. Highway 10 near Weyauwega.

He also said the vehicle straddled the fog line while going around Sunset Curve.

Whitaker pulled the vehicle over. The driver, identified as Zander, had a revoked license.

According to the criminal complaint, Deputy James Santiago arrived with his K9 partner, who alerted to the presence of drugs.

The officers reported finding heroin in Zander’s boot.

Zander was subsequently released from custody on a $2,000 signature bond.

He is scheduled for an adjourned initial court appearance on March 19.
