Minton, Norman L.

Norman L. Minton, age 63, passed away peacefully at his home in Waupaca on Sunday, April 28, 2019, surrounded by his family, after a courageous battle with cancer.

He was born in Waupaca on November 26, 1955 to Everett and Ann “Liz” (Abrahamson) Minton. Norman graduated from Waupaca High School. He enjoyed many outdoor activities including snowmobiling, camping, and fishing. His hands were always busy and he built various things for those he loved, including play sets for all of his beloved grandchildren. For about 25 years, he was employed at Noffke Lumber, where many of his coworkers became like family.

He will be sadly missed by his three children: Jamie (Jessica) Minton of Plover, Melissa (Adam) Wehmeyer of Amherst, and Ryan (Erin) Minton of Waupaca; seven grandchildren; special friend, Sharon Wilson; siblings: Gloria (Clayton) Luedke of Ogdensburg, Gerald (friend, Sue) Minton of Bancroft, Ronald (Lynne) Minton of Waupaca, and Betty (David) Minton-Heron of Unity; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Norman was preceded in death by his parents; infant brother, David; nephew, Christopher Minton; and niece, Susie Blevins.

The Funeral Service will be on Friday, May 3, 2019 at 11 a.m. at the Maple Crest Funeral Home, Waupaca. The visitation will be on Thursday at the funeral home from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. and again on Friday 10 a.m. until the time of the service. He will be buried beside his parents in Barton Cemetery in the Town of Farmington.
